Ms Victoria Wilson,
Dental Hygienist and Founder of the Smile Revolution

Victoria began her journey as a dental therapist at the Eastman Dental Hospital, London, in 2001. Her professional experience spans two continents, having worked within practice in the UK, both NHS and private sector, and the UAE private sector.

She is the founder and former President of the Emirates Dental Hygienist Club. She held the position of Website Officer on Council for the British Association of Dental Therapists (BADT), and has been a member of the House of Delegates for the International Federation of Dental Hygienists (IFDH) and has sat on the Communication and Public Relations committee for the IFDH. 

Victoria currently consults and is a key opinion leader for multiple industry leaders and runs the Smile Revolution, an oral health promotional hub that utilizes a range of communication channels in promoting oral health. The Smile Revolution podcast has over 9,000 listeners around the world.

David Gillam

Dr David Gillam, 
Clinical Consultant and Non-executive Director

Dr Gillam is a Clinical Consultant to BioMin Technologies Limited and is also a Clinical Reader at the Barts London School of Medicine and Dentistry (QMUL). He has considerable expertise concerning dentine hypersensitivity and periodontal disease and is internationally regarded on these subjects.

David was also a co-inventor of Ultradex Recalcifying and Whitening – a nano hydroxyapatite toothpaste and oral rinse with Professor Hill and colleagues. He previously published one of the first papers on the occlusion of dentine tubules using bioactive glass.

Besides his work in academia, David has many years of industry experience as well as having conducted laboratory and clinical research with leading oral health companies.

Ms Donna Paton,
Former President of the Irish Dental Hygienists’ Association

Donna studied dental hygiene 30 years ago at Dundee Dental Hospital in Scotland. She began her career working in a busy family practice in Edinburgh, briefly moving to Switzerland for a few years before settling in Ireland.

Donna has worked as a dental hygienist in General and Specialist practice for over 20 years in Ireland and still has great passion of the job and profession.

Donna has been an active member of the Irish Dental Hygienist Association helping to lobby the government to implement independent practice for dental hygienists in Ireland. She also has held many roles from the Scientific Journal Editor, Secretary and has recently just stepped off the IDHA committee after 4 years as the IDHA President.

Donna is on the Board of Directors of the International Federation of Dental Hygienists as the Treasurer.

Gitana

Ms Gitana Rėderienė, 
President of the Lithuanian Dental Hygienists’ Association

Gitana graduated from Kaunas Medical University twenty years ago with a Masters degree in Public Health Management and a Certificate of Dental Hygiene. In 1998, she started to practice dental hygiene at Vilnius University Hospital Dental Clinic, where she still works now.

Gitana took a ten-year break from dental hygiene, working for two international pharmaceutical companies as a product and key account manager.

Gitana was a founder, and a President of Lithuanian Dental Hygienists Association until 2001, a title she regained again in 2016.

Gill_BW

Ms Gill (Wallis) Cliffe,

Gill has worked in the field of dentistry since 1985, initially as a Dental Nurse, and qualifying as a Dental Hygienist in 1999 at the University of Leeds.

She gained experience as a staff dental hygienist in an oncology department and separately working as research assistant for Professor Monty Duggal looking at cariogenicity.

Gill is an accredited Guided Biofilm Practitioner and is passionate about the minimally invasive approach to prevention and treatment of oral diseases.

Her main interests lie in treating anxious patients, the autism spectrum disorder and neurological conditions, and the treatment and prevention of dentine hypersensitivity.

Gill is an active member of British Society of Dental Hygienists and Therapists (BSDHT) and is the current regional representative for the North East region, as well as being a member of British Association of Dental Therapists and the British Society of Periodontology.  

Gill has recently been accepted onto the Kent University mentorship programme for BSDHT which will take place in 2021.

Dr Stefano Daniele,
Practicing Dentist and University Tutor, Milan

Dr Stefano Daniele graduated from Milan University in 2001 and was a postgraduate in clinical dentistry with minimum intervent at Alma Mater University in Bologna, Italy, completing his final thesis on dentine hypersensitivity.

Dr Daniele is an Academic Tutor for Restorative Dentistry in the Department of Biomedical, Surgical and Dental Science at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry of University of Milan, Polo San Paolo e Carlo Hospital in Milan, Italy. He is a past visiting Professor at Amedeo Avogadro University in Novara, Italy, for teaching Restorative Dentistry and Dental Materials.

Stefano has a private clinical practice in Milan, Italy.
