BioMin® F outperforms Colgate Sensitive Pro-relief™ and Sensodyne Rapid Action™ in relieving hypersensitivity in clinical trial

Method
A randomised, controlled, triple-blinded clinical trial was conducted with 140 participants clinically diagnosed with dentine hypersensitivity and randomly divided into four groups:
Group A
5% fluorocalcium phosphosilicate (BioMin® F)
Group B
Pro-Argin™ (Colgate Sensitive Pro-Relief™)
Group C
8% strontium acetate (Sensodyne Rapid Action™)
Group D
Sodium fluoride-based OTC dentifrices
Sensitivity was tested with air blast, mechanical and water jet stimulion the SCHIFF cold air sensitivity scale (SCASS) and visual ana loguescale (VAS) after one minute, three days, two, four, and six weeks.
Conclusion
A total of 128 participants completed the trial.
BioMin® F showed the highest reduction in dentine hypersensitivity on SCASS and VAS for waterjet stimuli.
BioMin® F is the best long-term treatment option for managing dentine hypersensitivity.
